Description: A very striking and elegant Swedish 1960s ‘Florida’ Sofa, designed by Johannes Andersen and manufactured by Trensums. Please note we also have a matching lounge chair to accompany the sofa, which can be found in a separate listing. The sofa is upholstered in its original corded and patterned, Red coloured Velour upholstery, with an internally sprung backrest and three seat base cushions. The piece features a gorgeous subtle curve, with a low slung profile, being quintessentially sixties but with a timeless design, typical of pieces designed by Johannes Andersen. All internal springs are in perfect working order, with the sofa’s Beech frame being strong and sturdy. The whole piece is raised on five turned and tapering Beech wood legs below. The original Trensums manufacturers label can still be found to the underside of the sofa. Purchased in Sweden, this design classic is an original piece of Mid Century furniture.
