Meet the Team

Jonathan
Having completed a National Diploma in Graphic Design at College, I moved to Birmingham City University where I gained a Degree in Interior Product Design. It was whilst at University that I started to buy and sell vintage die cast toys to make some extra money for myself. Having done this for around a year, my interest in furniture began to grow and subsequently I purchased my first ever piece back in 2010, a 1930’s Art Deco Oak Sideboard, still to this day one of the heaviest items I have ever purchased! After leaving Birmingham in 2013, I returned to Nottinghamshire and became a full time part of the Business.

My favourite style would have to be the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 30s, due to it being totally unique to any other period in History, and being different from styles before it or the Post War period which proceeded it. Nothing can replicate the very linear, curved and outrageous designs that this period produced, whether it be a simple piece of lighting or the land mark buildings along the Miami beach front.

As well as Furniture, I have a huge passion for Health and Fitness, and regularly visit the Gym. I am also a keen Snowboarder, Ice Hockey Player, Petrol head and major Foodie!

Favourite Film: Goodfellas

I have always had an interest in Art, Design and Interiors. I have a background in fashion working for manufactures / retailers including Marks and Spencer, Next and BHS. Work has taken me all over the country and on occasion in to Europe. Later I had an administrative roll in a small company, but I am happiest when I am out and about around our beautiful country, meeting our lovely customers who make our job so rewarding. Anything creative gets my attention and it is a pleasure to work with wonderful items on an everyday basis.

My interests lie in History and Historic houses, which inspired me from an early age. I also enjoy Gardening, Cooking, Walking, Skiing and anything generally home related.

Favourite Film: Sense and Sensibility

I left school at 15 and went straight to work at Butterley Brick in Derbyshire as a sales administrator. I was promoted after 3 years to the export office where I managed exports and travelled all over Europe. At 21 I became a sales representative in charge of the East Midlands area and eventually left the company and moved to Nottingham Brick as the Northern Divisional manager. At 28 I decided to work for myself and purchased a Cast Stone company in Chesterfield, which eventually expanded to a work force of 15, and was responsible for supplying materials to many large and prestigious projects around the country.

In 2010 and after 21 years in charge, reduce my work load and stress, and go to work with my Wife and Son. This is when Lots 2 Like was born and I haven’t looked back since.

I have a love for sport of any kind and represented my school at Football, Hockey, Rugby, Cricket and Basketball, reaching a high standard at Football and Cricket in my late teens and early 20s. My hobbies include DIY, Travelling, Gardening, Walking and Skiing.

Favourite Film: Anything Clint Eastwood related!
