Description: An elegant Danish Art Deco 2.5 seat ‘Banana’ sofa. The sofa is upholstered in a Mint Green coloured Velour fabric, with subtle contrasting piping around the edges and seat base, and deep ribbed detailing to the backrest. The sofa is generously sized for a 2 seat sofa, but a little to cosy to comfortably be a 3 seat sofa, hence the ‘2.5’. The frame features a beautiful inward curve giving the piece its ‘Banana’ shape. Like the majority of all Danish Art Deco pieces, the sofa is raised upon a heavy Beech wood frame with a coil sprung base, with all springs intact and working perfectly. The Sofa also sits upon two turned Beech feet to the front and two block feet to the rear. Purchased in Denmark, this design classic is an original piece of Mid Century furniture.
