Condition: The Leather is as new, having just been completely reupholstered, including the strapping and button fixings. The frame is strong and sturdy with only small signs of age.
Description: An iconic Brazilian Mid-Century ‘MP-41’ three seater Sofa, designed by famous Brazilian designer Percival Lafer, and manufactured by his own company MP Lafer. The Lafer designs are truly unique for the era, with this model being one of the most sought after. Original Percival Lafer pieces are uncommon in Europe, and even more so in the UK. The Sofa has been fully reupholstered in a brand new, thick and premium Italian aniline Leather, in keeping with how these pieces left the factory when new. The original button patterning has been kept, and features heavily within the seating area, and is complimented by subtle and contrasting light stitching. The seating area cocoons the user, and gives a bucket like sit. The whole piece is then raised on an open and solid Jatoba wood frame, with trademark angular sides, and exposed metal fixings. Purchased in Europe, this design icon is an original piece of Mid-Century design.
