Description: A very stylish Danish 1960s 3 seater ‘Model 61’ Sofa, designed by Kurt Østervig and manufactured by Henry Rolschau Møbler. Please note we also have two matching lounge chairs to accompany this sofa, both of which can be found in a separate listing. The model 61 sofa is quite rare to find, in comparison to the chairs of the same design, as it was produced in fewer quantities. The piece is upholstered in pale Yellow Velour fabric, with the base cushion being internally sprung with traditional coil springs. The design is quintessentially sixties, with its low slung profile and linear edges, something typified by Kurt Ostervig’s designs. The whole piece is raised on a strong and sturdy Beech wood frame, with four turned and tapering Beech legs below. Purchased in Denmark, this design classic is an original piece of Mid Century furniture.
