Description: An iconic set of 6 Danish 1960s ‘Model 42’ Dining chairs, designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Skovman Andersen. These chairs are quite possibly Kai Kristiansen’s most sought after and popular chair designs today. The chairs are upholstered in faux Black Leather, this being very common for the time, given that the material is very functional and can be easily cleaned. All chairs are produced from solid Teak, with the frames being strong and sturdy to each. This model of dining chair was also designed with a tilting backrest to maximize ergonomics, something highly unique for 1960s furniture design. The model 42 design is typified by the striking ‘Z’ shape of the chair frames, and are often simply coined ‘Z Chairs’. Purchased in Denmark, these design classics are original piece of Mid Century furniture.
