Description: A stylish Danish Art Deco 1940s ‘Banana’ tub chair. Please note we also have a matching 2 seat sofa to accompany this chair, which can be found in a separate listing. The chair is upholstered in Gold coloured velour, with ribbed detailing all the way around the backrest of the piece, as well as exposed furniture tacks around the edges of the chair. The profile of the chair features a subtle curve, thus giving it the Banana name. Like the majority of Danish Art Deco seating from this era, the chair is sprung underneath with scissor springs, and is raised upon a Beech wood frame. The chair is also raised on four tapering and turned Beech feet to each corner. Purchased in Denmark, this design classic is an original piece of Mid Century furniture.
