Description: A stylish Danish Art Deco 1940s 2 seat ‘Banana’ sofa. Please note we also have a matching lounge chair to accompany this sofa, which can be found in a separate listing. The sofa is upholstered in Gold coloured velour, with ribbed detailing all the way around the backrest of the piece, as well as exposed furniture tacks around the edges of the sofa. The profile of the sofa features an elegant curve, thus giving it the Banana name. Like the majority of Danish Art Deco seating from this era, the sofa is sprung underneath with scissor springs, and is raised upon a Beech wood frame. The sofa is also raised on four tapering and turned Beech feet to each corner. Purchased in Denmark, this design classic is an original piece of Mid Century furniture.
