Description: A very striking Danish Art Deco 2.5 seat ‘Banana’ sofa. The sofa is upholstered in a deep Red Velour fabric, with contrasting piping detail around the edges of the sofa, as well as subtle buttoning to the backrest. Due to the nature of the fabric, the colour will appear darker under more dull light. The frame features a beautiful inward curve giving the piece its ‘Banana’ shape. The sofa is generously sized for 2 people, and could accommodate 3 people for a snug fit, hence the size being a ‘2.5’ seat. Like the majority of all Danish Art Deco pieces, the sofa is raised upon a heavy Beech wood frame with an internally sprung base. The Sofa also sits upon four turned Oak feet to each corner. Purchased in Denmark, this design classic is an original piece of Mid Century furniture.
